I already wrote, in a separate thread, about how the transfers working group at ICANN wants to make it easier to hijack domain names:
https://www.namepros.com/threads/re...ake-it-easier-to-hijack-domain-names.1279715/
But, I just blogged about another part of that same report, which would allow registrars much broader discretionary powers to block outgoing domain name transfers that they deem undesirable, despite them being legal! See my article at:
https://freespeech.com/2022/08/01/d...oing-transfers-of-legal-domains-they-dislike/
for more details on this very dangerous proposal that would harm domain name registrants. The deadline to submit comments is tomorrow (Tuesday August 2, 2022), but I've asked for an extension. If others feel the same way, reach out to ICANN and the chair of that working group to ask for more time.
